    Here are some classic local snack recommendations:

    Rice noodle roll - Guangdong


    The rice noodle roll, also known as a steamed rice roll and cheung fun, is a Cantonese dish originating from Guangdong Province in southern China, commonly served as either a snack, small meal or variety of dim sum. It features a thin roll of wide shahe fen (rice noodles), packed with shrimp, beef, veggies, or more. Seasoned soy sauce – sometimes with siu mei drippings – is poured over the dish upon serving.

    Tanghulu - Beijing(or Southern China)


    Tanghulu, also called bingtang hulu, is a traditional Northern Chinese snack consisting of several rock sugar-coated fruits of Chinese hawthorn (Crataegus pinnatifida) on a bamboo skewer. It is named for its calabash-like shape. Tanghulu is often mistaken for regular candied fruits; however, it is coated in a hardened sugar syrup. This sweet and sour treat has been made since the Song Dynasty, and it remains popular throughout northern China.


    Chinese hawthorn is the traditional fruit used for the skewering of fruit, but in recent times, vendors have also used various other fruits, such as cherry tomatoes, mandarin oranges, strawberries, blueberries, pineapples, kiwifruit, bananas, or grapes. The pits and seeds of the hawthorn are emptied out and are commonly filled with sweet red bean paste before being skewered and dipped.

    Roujiamo - Shaanxi


    Roujiamo (also spelled rougamo) is a popular street food in China, particularly originating from Shaanxi Province. It is a type of Chinese sandwich, often referred to as the "Chinese hamburger" in the United States due to its similarity in appearance.Traditionally, the meat used in roujiamo is slow-cooked, seasoned pork that is shredded or chopped finely. However, you can find variations with other meats like beef, lamb, or even vegetables for vegetarian options.

    Rice noodle - Guilin


    Guilin rice noodle is a special food in Guilin, Guangxi, China, and one of the representative snacks in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It uses delicate Rice noodles as the main ingredient, with various ingredients and seasonings, to make a bowl of delicious food with aroma and taste.


    Guilin rice noodle is characterized by its Rice noodles texture. The Rice noodles here has a unique production process. After the rice is ground into flour, it is made into delicate Rice noodles through repeated screening, steaming, drying and other processes, which is very soft and smooth.

    Jianbing Guozi - Shandong


    Shandong Jianbing Guozi is a beloved traditional street food hailing from the Shandong province of China. This delectable treat is a popular choice for breakfast or as a satisfying snack throughout the day.


    Typical fillings include egg, scallions, cilantro, and sometimes crispy fried wonton wrappers for an extra crunch. Additionally, savory and umami-rich sauces like hoisin sauce and chili paste are spread over the surface, adding depth and boldness to each bite. The cooked pancake is then folded and often wrapped around a crispy fried dough stick, which provides both a contrast in texture and a satisfying heartiness.
